'Lau er khosa bata'(Bottle gourd skin Paste )....:)

This is a typical Bengali dish.... In Bong food, bata or paste has a especial place.....that is made out of bottle gourd skin, that we generally throw away ....but I saved up all the skin and made it....this is a item that's very  tasty and is very simply .

This nice recipe give me my dear sister  Priyanka ....I little bit changing her recipe.....thank u soo much dear for this yammy recipe....hope you also enjoy this recipe...:)


Ingredients:-
  • One midium size Lau/Lauki/Bottle Gourd skin that is obtained after de-skinning the vegetable - finely sliced
  • Kalo jeera/Kalonji seeds - 1/4 tsp
  • Posto/Poppy seeds - 1/4 tsp(optional)
  • Garlic cloves   -3
  • Onion             - 1 (Small size & finely chopped)
  • Green chillis     -2
  • Dry Red Chillies - 2 (depending on requirement)
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Salt & suger  - To taste
  • Musterd Oil - about 2-3 tbsp
Method:-
  1. At first make a paste of Peel &  sliced from Bottle Gourd skin  with clove of Garlic and  Green Chillies.Add little water to make the smooth paste
  2. Next heat mustard oil in a Kadhai/Frying Pan.Now add Kalo jeera/Kalonji seeds,Onion ,Dry Red Chillies. Sauté 4-5 mins.
  3. Add the paste with salt, sugar and turmeric powder.
  4. Sauté the paste at medium heat  till the raw smell leaves, the paste is dry yet moist and tastes great. At last add Posto/Poppy seeds (optional).
  5. Serve hot with plan white rice.
